Sarah Drawwater – The Nostalgic Doula
Thank you for taking a moment to read my profile. I am an experienced doula and live in Ramsey, central Cambridgeshire. I have been supporting families across the county and beyond since 2019 as a birth and postnatal doula, Hypnobirthing instructor, and creator of Birth Prep In A Box (BPIAB).
I have always been drawn to pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding—from a teenage fascination with birth and the immense power of women and birthing people to my own journey through motherhood. Experiencing the intensity of parenthood first-hand, I developed a deep appreciation for the support that can make all the difference. I love being alongside families as they navigate their own unique path, offering a steady presence, an open ear, and a wealth of evidence-based information to help them make choices that truly feel like their own.
BPIAB grew from my desire to make birth preparation more accessible, visual, and adaptable to different learning styles. It has since evolved into a toolkit that other birth workers now train to use in their own practice. As well as teaching Hypnobirthing, I incorporate BPIAB into my work with families, offering practical insights and tools to help you build confidence and clarity in your birth preferences—without the overwhelm.
Doula support without the cherry
I often say that good antenatal education, information, and preparation are the cake, and in-person birth support is the cherry on top. While I offer a full-spectrum doula package, I also provide ‘doula support without the cherry’—a tailored option for those who want more than a Hypnobirthing teacher but less than a full birth doula. If that sounds like what you're looking for, feel free to reach out for more details.
A little more about my story...
My journey to becoming a doula has been one of evolution. After having my boys, I started a photography business—not the posed, ‘say cheese’ kind, but one that captures real moments, real stories. That love of storytelling naturally led me deeper into the world of birth and parenthood, where I found my place supporting families in a different but equally meaningful way.
Wherever you are on your journey, my role is to help you find what works for you—whether that’s building a birth plan that feels like a roadmap rather than a rigid script, supporting a birth partner in stepping into their role with confidence, or helping you sift through the mountain of information out there so that you can focus on what truly matters to you.
I’d love to chat and see how I can support you. You can find more about what I do at www.TheNostalgicDoula.co.uk.
