Hello, and warmest congratulations on your pregnancy.
My name is Sarah. I am deeply devoted to birth work and motherhood. I live in Frome with my husband and son, and I support families across Somerset, BANES, Wiltshire, and the surrounding areas.
I am a birth and postnatal doula, as well as a birth photographer, with a passion for guiding expectant parents through pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period. I work alongside families to help them feel informed, supported, and confident as they move towards their most positive birth experience. Alongside my doula services, I offer birth photography for those wishing to gently and respectfully document their birth.
At the heart of my work is a strong belief that every birthing person deserves to feel safe, nurtured, and empowered. I have supported families in a wide range of birth settings and experiences, including home births, hospital births, and caesarean births.
I hold a special place in my heart for families navigating IVF and fertility challenges. I have lived this journey myself—conceiving my son naturally, and later carrying a baby as a surrogate through IVF. Experiencing birth in these very different ways taught me something deeply important: no two births, and no postpartum journeys, are the same. Each is unique, and each deserves compassionate, attentive, and individualised support.
My own journey into birth work was inspired by the beautiful, doula-supported birth of my son, Ozzie, which showed me the lasting impact of continuous, compassionate support. I completed my initial doula training in 2017 in Los Angeles with Doula Training International before returning to England to further my education and become a certified doula in the UK. I continue to build on my knowledge through additional training, including paediatric first aid, biomechanics for birth, and Rebozo scarf techniques for comfort and pain management.
My relationship with each family I support is personal and unique. I take the time to truly listen, to understand your story, your hopes, and your preferences for birth. I offer calm, continuous one-to-one support throughout labour and the early postnatal period, helping to normalise the process and ease anxiety with reassurance, practical comfort measures, and informed guidance. I am a trained breast feeding peer supporter and hold space for the early days of postpartum. I hold a current DBS check and have a clean drivers licence.
I would love to hear more about your journey. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions, or to arrange a relaxed chat over a cup of tea.
WHAT OTHER FAMILIES HAVE SAID.
"We cannot recommend Sarah enough. After a difficult first birth we were anxious of a repeat, but instead the birth of our Son was a powerful and positive experience, and we feel this is largely down to Sarah. Sarah, instantly provided us with a calm and positive outlook. She is a naturally positive person, but provided rounded and considered guidance. Allowing us to feel confident that the decisions we made were our decisions to support our journey. Sarah went above and beyond to give us the best possible care, and support, throughout our birthing journey. She helped support us through our labour, and also provided us with invaluable post-natal support. Sarah was born to do this, and we couldn’t imagine our experience without her" "I met two other Doulas before meeting Sarah, and was sure from our first chat that she was someone I would be comfortable with. I was really impressed with Sarah’s knowledge, and the way she shared it with us in an accessible way. I would recommend Sarah without reservation to anyone looking to engage a doula, and perhaps especially to mums-to-be wondering whether they need a doula at all! Sarah was such a big asset. She was calm, caring, and knowledgeable. She did everything she could to support us and provide practical and emotional back-up, and did so with good humour and great compassion. I am really grateful to her for her contribution to the arrival of our miracle baby" "The icing on the cake was Sarah’s incredible photos of us during and just post birth. These are the most moving pictures we have"
