About Me
Hello, and warmest congratulations on your pregnancy.
My name is Sarah, I am a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I am passionately devoted to birth-work and motherhood.
I live in Frome with my Son and cover Somerset, Wiltshire, and the surrounding areas. I’m a birth and postnatal doula, and birth photographer.
I love guiding expectant parents through the birthing process. Working with families to help them achieve their most positive birth. Alongside offering doula services, I offer birth photography.
At the very core of my work, I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, nurtured, and empowered in her birth experience. I have lots of experience in many different birth scenarios. I have supported clients in home births, hospital births, natural births, and cesarean births.
Influenced by the the beautiful, doula supported, birth of my son, Ozzie, I was inspired to become a doula. I completed my extensive doula training in Los Angeles with Doula Training International. Returning home to England, I chose to further my doula education, and became a certified doula in the Uk too.
My relationship with families is unique, it is individualised support. I take time to learn and understand your story, and your birth preferences. Supporting you with continuous one to one support.
The birthing process can be a wild ride, as every birth is different, having the presence of a trained Doula by your side can ease anxiety and stress by normalising the process. I know birth, I know how to make suggestions to ease the discomforts of labour for both Mum and partner.
I volunteer weekly at my local Baby Cafe in Frome; a breast-feeding support group. I have a clean drivers licence, paediatric first aid training and Rebozo Scarf qualification for pain management, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. I am currently in an continuing education program with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers to become a breastfeeding counsellor.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to arrange a cup of tea to chat further
WHAT OTHER FAMILIES HAVE SAID.
“We cannot recommend Sarah enough. After a difficult first birth we were anxious of a repeat, but instead the birth of our Son was a powerful and positive experience, and we feel this is largely down to Sarah.
Sarah, instantly provided us with a calm and positive outlook. She is a naturally positive person, but provided rounded and considered guidance. Allowing us to feel confident that the decisions we made were our decisions to support our journey.
Sarah went above and beyond to give us the best possible care, and support, throughout our birthing journey. She helped support us through our labour, and also provided us with invaluable post-natal support.
Sarah was born to do this, and we couldn’t imagine our experience without her”
“I met two other Doulas before meeting Sarah, and was sure from our first chat that she was someone I would be comfortable with. I was really impressed with Sarah’s knowledge, and the way she shared it with us in an accessible way.
I would recommend Sarah without reservation to anyone looking to engage a doula, and perhaps especially to mums-to-be wondering whether they need a doula at all! Sarah was such a big asset. She was calm, caring, and knowledgeable. She did everything she could to support us and provide practical and emotional back-up, and did so with good humour and great compassion. I am really grateful to her for her contribution to the arrival of our miracle baby”
“The icing on the cake was Sarah’s incredible photos of us during and just post birth. These are the most moving pictures we have”
