About Me
My name is Sarah and I am a birth and postnatal doula.
For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by all things pregnancy & birth and love to hear everyone’s different thoughts, opinions and experiences whilst offering support and guidance where I am able.
I am a mother to Isaac and live in the very lovely and leafy Brockley in South East London. I come from a big family so have always been surrounded by pregnant sisters, friends, cousins and lots of gorgeous babies and have always been obsessed and amazed by the miracle of birth.
I really believe that the experience of pregnancy and birth has evolved over the years, and I think it’s more important than ever for those giving birth to be offered caring, sensitive and knowledgeable support whilst helping them with their choices and decisions.
I’m an easy going, approachable and open minded person who is passionate about providing care at one of the most important stages of life. I do not bring any preconceived ideas or judgement to the process – my only job is to provide emotional and practical support allowing you to achieve the birth and postnatal period you envision.
As your Doula, I will work by your side as you prepare to give birth; present in each moment with support, guidance and understanding. I can provide the emotional, educational and physical support you need not only during labour, but throughout your pregnancy and postnatally as well. I have experience in both spontaneous and induced labours as well as attending births within midwife led birth centres, delivery suites and providing support for caesarean births.
I am very familiar with Lewisham, Queen Elizabeth and Kings labour, antenatal and birth centre as well as the UCH, Whittington Hospital and St Thomas’s. I have a personal passion for breastfeeding (and fed my son until just before he was 2) and can help support you achieve a successful start to your breastfeeding journey, signposting you to useful resources and groups as well as offering practical help and listening to what is happening with you (as everyone will have a unique experience when breastfeeding).
If breastfeeding isn’t working for you, or you have chosen to feed your baby with formula, I can of course help you with this also, as well as discuss combination feeding and every other option in between!
