About Me
Hi, I’m Savannah. I live near Clapham Junction with my 11-year-old daughter, and our little dog Boris. Becoming a mother was an incredible experience for me, and ignited my passion for supporting parents in the early stages of their journey.
When my daughter was nearing 12 months, I decided to do the 2-year antenatal teacher training with the NCT. I then taught for 3 years, preparing parents-to-be for childbirth and early parenthood.
I really loved working with groups and supporting parents through the NCT, but of course, the group setting can only go so far. I enjoy helping parents on a more personal level, providing that continual support. Providing stability and reassurance during a sometimes overwhelming and transformative time is a privilege. It is something I feel everyone should have access to. This is what led me to become a doula.
I also worked as a birth doula, supporting families through pregnancy, labour and the immediate postnatal period. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the emotional and practical needs of new parents.
Postnatal Doula
With my experience as both a birth and postnatal doula, as well as my teaching background, I understand that every family’s journey into parenthood is unique. I provide open, tailored support to help you discover what works best for you and your baby, while ensuring you feel heard, confident, and cared for.
Sadly, new parents aren’t always as supported as they might like to be. It can be confusing and overwhelming hearing lots of different information from various sources such as friends and family about what to do and what not to do as a parent. You deserve to be nurtured and not told what to do but by given the space and encouragement, to learn what is best for you and your family.
I want you to say goodbye to me feeling like I helped you find your path, not told you which path to walk.
My goal is to help build your confidence as a parent, by holding a safe space for you and your baby, and by providing holistic so that you can enjoy your baby and this precious time in your life as much as possible. I want you to feel reassured, listened to and appreciated for the incredible miracle you have just been through and are going through.
Some of the ways I can support you are:
* Listening and helping you process your birth experience.
* Offering breastfeeding support.
* Help to build your confidence with practical baby care (bathing, changing etc).
* Light housework (vacuuming, laundry, ironing).
* Grocery shopping.
* Run errands.
* Preparing some meals.
* Take the baby out for a stroll or watch them while you have a rest.
* Babysitting older children.
* Walking the dog.
* Connecting you with helpful resources.
* CRB/DBS checked
* Fully insured
