If you’re looking for support through pregnancy, birth, or the postnatal period, you’re in the right place. You do not need to be a follower of Christ for me to support you — but it is important that you understand who I am and how I work.
I believe that birth is spiritual. Full stop.
I believe in God, in the power of prayer, and in the incredible strength He has placed within you as a woman.
How I Support You
Every labour is unique, and every woman requires a different kind of support. Through our antenatal sessions, I take time to truly get to know you — your needs, your relationships, and the support around you. This allows me to understand how you best receive encouragement, reassurance, and care, so I can support you in a way that feels safe, personal, and aligned with who you are.
In practice, birth support may include a calm and continuous presence, emotional reassurance, practical comfort measures, and physical support through touch. I also support your partner, helping them feel confident, informed, and involved, while gently assisting you in staying in the secret place, grounded, and focused as labour unfolds.
During pregnancy, we also talk openly about flexibility and emotional preparation for alternative outcomes. If plans need to change, you will be supported, informed, and held — whatever your birth journey looks like.
The Spiritual Aspect of My Work
For me, birth is sacred work, and this is where my support differs from many other doulas. I believe the Holy Spirit is already present, and that where two or more gather in His name, He is there also. With your consent, I invite Jesus into the birthing space, asking for His mercy, grace, and favour to cover you and your baby.
This may include prayer, speaking life and encouragement from His Word out loud or silently, and playing or singing worship music too add another layer of protection and support. My intention is to ensure you are spiritually covered and supported throughout our time together.
Working Alongside Your Care Team
I hold deep respect for midwives and the vital role they play in birth. I am not medically trained, and medically speaking, they are the experts. My role as your doula is different, yet complementary. I will help ensure your birth preferences and plans are known, respected, and adhered to wherever possible. I support clear, calm communication with your midwives and care team, helping to relay your wishes and ask questions on your behalf when needed, so you can remain focused, undisturbed, and fully present in your labour. My role is not to speak over medical professionals, but to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions you make.
I support you by protecting the atmosphere of the room, the emotional tone of the space & your ability to stay in that secret place surrounded by peace and strengthened in His mighty name.
At the Heart of My Work
My focus will always be on you. I am here to support your choices, your family, and your birth. This is your journey, and my role is to walk beside you — ensuring you feel connected, comforted, respected, and encouraged every step of the way.
2 Corinthians 1:3–4
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
It would be my honour to support you and your family as you begin this new chapter.
