I’m a birth and postnatal doula offering gentle, practical and trauma-aware support throughout pregnancy, birth and the early weeks of parenthood.
Alongside my doula work, I bring 20 years of professional experience delivering support and education across Northern Ireland in perinatal mental health and wellbeing, baby massage, personal development, sexual health and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. This background shapes everything I offer: calm support, honest conversations, clear information and a deep understanding of the emotional as well as the physical experience of becoming a parent.
Some families come to me feeling excited and confident. Others are carrying anxiety, fear or the effects of a previous difficult or traumatic birth. Wherever you are starting from, my role is not to take over or tell you how you should give birth. It is to listen carefully, understand what matters to you and help you feel informed, prepared and confident in your own voice.
I believe that you are the expert in your body, your baby and your family.
During pregnancy, we can explore your hopes, preferences and concerns without judgement. I offer clear, up-to-date information to support informed and consensual decision-making, alongside practical birth preparation, movement and positioning techniques. I am also trained in the 3 Step Rewind process, which can gently support those experiencing fear or distress connected to a previous birth experience.
I support births at home and in hospital, in water and on land, and through vaginal and caesarean birth. I do not measure a positive experience by how closely birth follows a particular plan. What matters to me is that you feel safe, respected, listened to and supported as circumstances unfold.
I also support birth partners. My presence is not intended to replace the person who knows and loves you best. I help them feel prepared, included and more confident in how they can comfort, encourage and advocate for you.
My support continues after your baby is born. I am trained to offer breastfeeding and chest-feeding support and am an IAIM baby massage instructor. Postnatally, I can offer emotional reassurance, practical help, nourishing food preparation, feeding and newborn support, and a calm, non-judgemental presence as you find your feet.
A previous client shared:
“Throughout my pregnancy journey I felt totally supported by Tracy. She was my voice of reason on the days I had been worried about one thing or another. Tracy has a very gentle, respectful and kind nature, but was also 100% professional. I entered into this motherhood journey much more relaxed and confident than I ever expected.”
I am a grounded and quietly confident doula and I understand that inviting someone into your pregnancy, birth and early postnatal experience is a significant decision. I never take that trust lightly.
If you are looking for a doula who combines practical birth preparation with specialist understanding of emotional wellbeing, anxiety and previous trauma, I would love to hear from you and explore whether we are the right fit.
