Birth Doula & Postnatal Doula

I’m Valentina, a Birth & Postnatal Doula, Maternity Nurse, Hypnobirthing and infant massage teacher

Hello, I’m Valentina — and I’m so glad you’re here

Over 12 years and hundreds of families, I've supported women through nearly every version of how birth can unfold — home births and hospital births, water births and inductions, births that went to plan and births that changed course entirely. And in all that time, one thing has never changed: the women who come through it feeling strongest aren't the ones with the "perfect" plan. They're the ones who had someone steady beside them the whole way through.

My philosophy is simple: I follow you. Not a script, not a checklist — you. Your wishes, your pace, your instincts. I prepare you and your partner so thoroughly, and support you so steadily, that whatever your birth looks like, you walk into it — and through it — informed, confident, and never alone.

Being a doula was never just a job for me. It's a deep belief in women's strength, in their right to be heard, and in the fact that how a birth feels matters just as much as how it ends.

Why work with a birth doula?

Because how your birth feels matters just as much as how it ends. Whether you're listened to. Whether you feel in control. Whether your voice shapes the decisions being made around you — these things stay with you long after your baby arrives.

As your doula, I offer calm, continuous, one-to-one support through labour — at home, in hospital, in water, with an epidural or without. Whatever you choose, I hold that space for you.

What I bring to your birth:

• A deep, evidence-based understanding of how labour works — and how to support it
• Steady emotional support and encouragement, however your labour unfolds
• Hands-on comfort techniques: breathwork, massage, movement, and positioning
• A calm, reassuring presence from the first contraction to the birth itself
• Help shaping your birth preferences — and communicating them clearly to your care team
• Preparation and confidence-building for your partner, so they feel like an active part of the team
• Steady guidance through unexpected turns, so you stay informed and empowered even when the plan changes

From early labour, through the birth, and into those first quiet hours with your baby — helping you settle into this new chapter gently.

Often, it's the smallest things that shift an entire birth experience: a hand on your back, the right word at the right moment, someone in the room who isn't going anywhere.
After birth, a new journey begins

Postpartum is one of the most raw, beautiful, and overlooked stages of a woman's life. You're healing, feeding, adjusting, becoming — and too often, doing it while quietly carrying everything yourself.

This is where postnatal doula care matters most.

As your postnatal doula, I'm there to care for you — because you matter too, not just as a mother, but as yourself.

What postnatal support with me looks like:

• Gentle space to talk through your birth experience — the parts that felt hard, and the parts you're proud of
• Practical, judgment-free support with infant care, feeding, and babywearing
• Guidance around sleep, soothing, and finding your baby's rhythms
• Support for your partner and family
• Deep, unhurried listening — no advice you didn't ask for, no judgment, ever

I've sat with women in the quiet weight of postpartum sadness, and I know what it costs to hold everything together while feeling lost inside. I've also seen — again and again — how the right support can turn this fragile season into something soft, steady, and empowering.

There is no "right" way to birth or mother — there is only your way

And whatever your path looks like, you don't have to walk it alone. I'm not in front of you, and I'm not behind you — I'm beside you, gently reminding you of the strength you already carry.

Twelve years and hundreds of families have taught me how to hold that space for you. If you're looking for someone steady, experienced, and completely on your side — I'd love to talk.
