Birth Doula

I am 52 years old and have 4 children ages ranging from 14-28. I had vaginal births with all of them, although every one was very different. I was induced with my last 2 pregnancies. I breastfed them all until 2 years old. I am a very caring person, who is able to reflect on both my own experiences and those births I have attended which will in turn enable me to offer you a service solely for you. I love being able to help other people especially at such an important time as your pregnancy. Every woman has the right to have the labour and birth she aspires to unless medical reasons say otherwise. With my support both at the birth and in her ante natal preparation there is no reason why this can't be achieved. Whether it is a home birth or hospital birth I will help to provide a safe secure environment for you to experience the most empowering task you will ever have . I have supported ladies and their partners both at home births and in hospital. Both are very different but equally rewarding. My main aim is to listen to the mother, provide any information i think relevant to her labour, and to help the mother have the birth she really wants. This i feel empowers them and encourages them to make the right choices for themselves and their baby, in the hope that a happy birth will be a happy start on their wonderful journey together. This is my 7th year as a Doula UK member I am experienced in providing support both for home, hospital births and MLU, and also in post natal support. The feedback from my clients has always been very positive as I feel we form a special relationship during this time that is based on trust and care. One of which I delivered baby before the midwife arrived! although this really wasn;t the intention !! I also qualified in the Nurturing Birth Doula course, and am continually using experiences and resources to carry on to my next client. I have also attended a homeopathy in pregnancy course run by Marcela Holmes. I can also offer post natal support with some personal advice on breastfeeding, I can recommend breast feeding counsellors that have in the past provided invaluable help & support to my ladies. I am also linked with Warwickshire Doulas who provide and excellent birthing support network. I also work with positive birth groups. My experiences of a home birth are very different to that of a hospital birth but they are both as important as each other, It's your choice as is everything throughout your pregnancy and labour. I am able to provide caring, supportive, impartial advice using every resource I have and experience available. I follow the idea that a relaxed, safe environment will provide the perfect path for you to use all the skills I am able to offer you for the safe delivery of your baby.
