I live in Essex with my husband and two lively sons (13 and 10) and puppy Poochion.
I have worked in the NHS for the
past 30 years in Maternity Services as a support worker. My NHS journey has seen me working in all aspects of Pregnancy (ANC, Labour Ward, Maternity Theatre and Post Natal Wards). I enjoy working in all these areas but my flair and passion is within Post Natal care. At this present time I work in the community giving help and support to Mums and families at home.
Some of my daily tasks are,
Giving Advice on Feeding, whether its breast or bottle feeding as they are both important for mothers to feel comfortable with and to get it right. Part of my routine is
Weight Checks, NBBS and Nutritional Advice but the most important thing I do is
Listening and giving Informed Choice.
As a
Post Natal Doula I look forward to working with you and your family on the joyful experience. Becoming a mother is one of the most rewarding things in the world and it will bring you un-limited joy and happyness but also at times it can become very over-whelming and confusing. My job as your Doula would be to
listen to your concerns and help you make the right choices for you and your family. I will always be happy to answer a text or an email and if possible come over to see you if needed.
I also understand the need for new mothers to be able
relax and find some you-time, or just time for and baby, by having a Doula this will help you to achieve this. I am happy to do
light household chores, walk the dog, cook light snacks, or pick-up siblings from School or Nursery.
As your Doula I will meet with you before birth and we can decide on what support you may need when baby arrives, may this be daytime or night time help.
