Postnatal Doula

Mentored Birth Doula

Hello and firstly thank you so much for visiting my page and congratulations on your pregnancy or new baby(s) You may be looking for a doula to support you antenatally through to your birth, possibly a doula to assist you postnatally once you are home and adjusting to your new normal or maybe you need a night doula so you can rest and recover knowing your baby is well looked after in your own home. I would love to help you with any of these options. My role as a doula is to be an emotional and practical support for you and your birth partner, if you have one, through this incredible, and let’s be honest, sometimes overwhelming, journey.  I’m not there to take over or tell you how to do things but instead help build your confidence so you can be the parents you want to be. I will help make sure you know where to find evidence-based information so you can approach your birth and postnatal period feeling confident that you’re making the decisions for you and your baby. I guess it would help knowing a little about me........ I live near Epping with my incredibly lucky husband, two boys aged 4 and 7, and our king of the house cocker spaniel, Baxter. I love spending time with my family, walking the dog, horse riding and hiking. I’m partial to a pub lunch or two and my weekends are spent watching my eldest son play football while the youngest drives his toy diggers through the mud.  They say never work with kids or animals.....I clearly did not listen to this as my career has taken me from working at stables and kennels in my teens to doing an NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Childcare while working at a Montessori nursery. I then worked as a nanny for 19 incredible years with just a short break to do Camp America and work on a ranch teaching Western horse riding to kids. After having my two boys, I decided to study antenatal and postnatal care with Antenatal Training UK. I’ll be completing this soon which will allow me to offer antenatal classes and breastfeeding support to parents. I knew I wanted to support expectant parents and have the privilege of being involved in their journey but also postnatally when all the hype has died down and you are adjusting to your new normal as it can feel lonely and overwhelming at times. After a friend of mine trained with Kicki and I saw the difference she was able to make to families I knew becoming a Doula was what I needed to do.   Some recent reviews

Clare

Tara was incredible. I wanted her to help me sleep train my baby and she did exactly that! She listened to my needs and preferred methods and gently helped me lengthen my baby’s sleep cycles. She is friendly, gentle and amazing with babies! Couldn’t recommend her highly enough

The Perfect Nights Rest

We have used Tara for overnight care for our newborn and was so happy we did! She is absolutely so knowledgable and even when my little one was all snuffly and had conjunctivitis i felt totally happy leaving her with Tara. She looked after our baby perfectly giving us a full detailed description of everything that happened through the night and we got to have really good nights sleep. Highly recommend Tara and her services.

Wonderful Support

Tara has a gift with children. From the moment she arrived, both us and our baby have felt in such good hands. She has a reassuring and loving energy as well as a lot of practical guidance. Tara supported us through a very tricky time with sleep regression and feeding, I don't know how we would have got through it without her!

Please feel free to get in touch for a chat and I can explain all the options if you would like to know more. Thank you. Tara x
