Your Body, Your Baby, Your Way
Hello! I’m Bex, The IVF Doula
I work with people across the full range of reproductive experiences, but with a focus on my specialism - working with those who have undergone (or are undergoing) IVF or assisted conception. I’m based in Hastings, East Sussex and support families across East and West Sussex, parts of Kent, London, and internationally on request.
After many years trying to create my own family, I gave birth at home on the sofa to my bouncy, smiley son who was conceived through IVF (and a lot of love). After this experience I trained as a birth doula with Developing Doulas and now spend the majority of my time thinking, talking and breathing all things birth.
How I work
As a doula I provide unwavering and non-judgemental support, information, resources and advocacy. My goal is to support you to feel safe and heard and to ensure that you are able to make informed choices about your care and have these choices respected.
I work with my clients to design support that accommodates their needs and experiences. When families and birthing people have experienced issues such as infertility, assisted conception, loss or other types of trauma, the after effects of these experiences can resonate through pregnancy and beyond. Perhaps you need help to navigate the many systems you are encountering, or perhaps you are struggling with anxiety following a journey to pregnancy that was not what you imagined. My passion is in ensuring that my support meets every client where they are at and makes them feel truly understood.
I have many years of experience in delivering trauma-informed advocacy and support for women and birthing people. I bring a gentle, choice-based and feminist approach to birth, as well as strong advocacy skills.
