Your Body, Your Baby, Your Way
Hello hello! I am a birth doula, hypnobirthing teacher and antenatal supporter based in Hastings and providing support to birthing people and their families across Sussex, and parts of Kent and South East London. When I work with you, my main goal is to make you feel safe and heard, by both myself and the ‘system’ that surrounds your pregnancy (whatever that might look like) and to ensure that you are able to make informed choices about your care and have these choices respected. I am passionate about ensuring that women and birthing people have full choice and control over what happens to their bodies so I love supporting people to understand how the maternity system works and how they can carve out some individualised care for themselves within that. I also love (with a geeky passion) teaching all about how amazing the body is to help bust fear and anxiety around birth.
My background is in working with women and girls who have experienced ongoing trauma and abuse and I bring this experience into my birth work through a gentle, choice-based and feminist approach, as well as strong advocacy skills.
Infertility, IVF and Assisted Conception
I have a special interest in and experience of working with pregnant people who have undergone (or those who are undergoing) assisted conception or have experienced infertility. I understand the additional anxiety that this can bring to a pregnancy and parenting. I have my own experience of infertility and IVF and have a bouncy, smiley son who was born at home on the sofa as a result of this.
