About Me
My name is Alice I am 40 years old and I am lucky enough to be a mother of three beautiful boys. Since having my sons, I have been passionate about pregnancy, childbirth and babies and have gone out of my way to support friends and family during these amazing life stages. These experiences have fuelled my desire to come alongside and contribute towards mothers and families having a positive and well supported postnatal experience.
I spend a lot of my time watching my sons playing sport, usually in the freezing cold, and I enjoy eating out and spending time with friends and family. I have recently started yoga and am loving spending time doing something zen and calm, which is great in counterbalancing the chaos of three boys. I previously worked in Events and PR, which was exciting and very demanding. Working as a doula is much more aligned with my values, passions, and my intention to work in a role that feels much more meaningful and fully draws on my strengths. I have previously worked with numerous charities that focus on the wellbeing of both parents and children.
I offer services as a postnatal doula as well a night-time doula, as I believe this is a super important time to have the right kind of support. It can feel very overwhelming if you’re a first-time mum or having to juggle a new member of an expanding family or simply adjusting to a “new normal”. I am here to be someone to lean on, someone to support you, to help with the practicalities of new parenting or just to be there and listen.
One of a postnatal doula’s superpower is signposting and this must not be underestimated. I will share a plethora of information about local support, social media groups, parenting sessions and drops ins or specialist organisations where additional support can be found where required.
Practical support can make things a little easier on tired parents in the early days. My role as a Postnatal doula includes but isn’t limited to:
- Infant care
- Feeding support
- Sibling support
- Running errands
- Helping around the house
- Putting on a load of laundry or hanging it up
- Accompanying you on first trips out to help build confidence
- Fetching drinks or snack or preparing a meal
Anything that allows parents the freedom to enjoy and relax in the glow of new parenthood and have that integral “extra pair of hands” to help.
I would be privileged to be a part of your early parenting journey.
