With our continuous care model of support, doulas are privileged to be with women and their families through pregnancy, labour, and childbirth, and in the early weeks with a newborn (and often much longer!).
The Doula UK antenatal workshop offers a unique approach to birth preparation, because it is based on the insights and lived experience of doulas who support births as part of their daily work, unlike traditional antenatal courses whose facilitators rarely do so. The workshop has been created by Nicola Wilson, who is one of the amazing women who founded Doula UK in 2001.
You will hear from Nicola and other experienced doulas who support all birth choices, and have extensive knowledge of the maternity and postnatal care systems, both nationally, and specific to the area in which the workshop is held.
You will receive guidance on making informed choices about how and where you want to birth your baby/babies, and what to really expect during pregnancy, childbirth and postnatally, and from life with a newborn.
We are thrilled to be able to offer our first workshop free of charge, as part of our Big Lottery Awards for All Bumps Birth & Babies project. Space is limited, so please book via the link below to secure your free place. All are welcome, so come with your partner, or birth partner, or on your own.
You’ll meet other parents and leave feeling informed and prepared for the birth and postnatal experience you deserve.
