I trained as a Nursery Nurse in 1988 & then qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1992. I’ve worked for many years in the field of child health and education, as a school nurse & then in the community.
Alongside supporting families & their precious new arrivals, I also coordinate a domiciliary team, which provides home care services for people through all ages & stages of life. I am a life long doula! I have been working as a qualified postnatal doula since 2008, and in that time I have had the privilege of supporting lots of wonderful families, many with twins. I’m now very experienced at baby juggling!During my own first pregnancy, I felt that I was embarking on a race! This race would be the biggest adventure of my life - motherhood. It's a journey that has been (and still continues to be) exhilarating, frustrating, exciting, rewarding, but at times very scary.
As with any race, the 'start' can make all the difference. I was very fortunate to be surrounded by supportive friends and family who ensured that I 'got off the blocks' to a great start! I'm convinced that this support and encouragement is vital for all new parents, and that’s why I feel so passionate about providing a doula service that does just that.
