About Me

Hi,
I’m Debbie, mother of 3 grown up children who now are having kiddies for themselves.

Retired Midwife, but still doing the odd bank shift.

I am passionate about helping and supporting new parents into and through parenthood. My greatest pleasure is calmly assisting new parents. I think this comes from still remembering the dramatic change in my life when my children were born.

I wasn’t a midwife when I had my children but my passion grew for midwifery, the more babies I had. Trained in my forties, I made my dream come true. Now I want to pass on and help women and families who are finding the whole process quite overwhelming or just need a calm and competent shoulder or hand to hold or lean on.

I truly believe that the female human/animal body knows how to birth. This was confirmed to me when I spent time with The Farm midwives in Nashville, including time spent with the amazing Ina May Gaskin.
If you like the sound of me, I can be the constant, calm, reassuring, competent (but not interfering!) supportive birth attendant for you and your partner/family.
Qualifications:
Registered Midwife since 2004
CPD ongoing as a requirement of the profession
DBS checked and Insured
AREA
I live in BN14, so areas within an hour of home.
My ‘work’ hospital is Princess Royal in Haywards Heath, but Worthing hospital is only 15 minutes drive from home
