About Me
Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my page! I have had an interest in pregnancy and birth for as long as I can remember, overhearing my mother retelling the story of my little sisters swift arrival barely making it out the car had me enthralled.
Now mother to my own 4 children (all very different experiences) I have truly seen the magic and the beauty surrounding pregnancy and birth. As a midwife and a mother I often find the 4th trimester is so overlooked. Having extra postnatal care from a trusted advisor who always puts your own needs first is something I wish all could have.
I have worked in maternity services for over 15 years and come with a huge amount of experience. From newborn hearing screener to community maternity support worker to my last position as a qualified midwife at a London hospital. Within my role as a midwife I moved around the hospital and dealt with very normal, to very complex pregnancies and everything in between.
After working hard to reach my goal as a midwife I felt sad, deflated and underwhelmed with the type of care I was instructed/allowed to give my clients. I chose to become a doula so I can provide physical and emotional support and care without time limits. In pregnancy and birth things can change quickly but having someone who can provide an anchor for you, knowing your wants and needs and supporting you know matter what is the kind of care I wish to provide.
I have lots of experience with tongue tie and lip tie and the issues it may cause. I can help with breastfeeding and support you with all the skills I have learnt along the way. Three of children suffered with this condition.
All i wish for is for parents to feel nurtured and empowered in their journey to parenthood and have the birth that they desire.
