About Me
Hi! My name is Jen Culley. Thank you for looking at my profile!
I live in Leamington Spa with my husband, three children and Bertie the Toy Poodle. As an experienced doula I’m passionate about enhancing parents’ experiences of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. I love supporting parents to understand their options and gain confidence in birthing and caring for their newborn. I love caring for people, making them feel safe and loved. I know what a difference this can make to birth and I want to be there to support people in whatever way they need. I know when to step back and just ‘be’ rather than ‘do’, I know when to listen, and I know when to step up with supporting women and families through this precious time. I’m realistic, down to earth and a very open person.
My services are in demand, I am often fully booked as both a birth and postnatal doula. I’m one of the most hired doula in the West Midlands for a reason – the quality of support I offer is second to none! If you are looking for this support please connect with me sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
The ‘not so positive’ birth experience I had with by first child in 2015, awoke in me a desire to become more informed about everything to do with birth and early parenthood. I felt I had missed out on so much information and particularly support that could have radically changed my first experience of birth. I feel that all birthing women and people have a fundamental right to unconditional and respectful care and support during pregnancy, birth and beyond. Since realising this passion I have been fortunate enough to obtain the ‘Birth and Beyond’ Foundation degree at The University of Worcester. I’m a qualified Antenatal Teacher and Breastfeeding Counsellor and I have delivered sessions to over a thousand expectant parents. I also trained with The Little Birth Company and offer hypnobirthing sessions and positive caesarean sessions. My knowledge and understanding of birth enabled me to have positive and healing births with my second and third babies, one being at hospital and one at home. I share my passion and supportive nature with other families and I strongly believe it is an absolute privilege that I get to do this! I provide truly parent centred support that is non judgemental and open minded. I understand that what constitutes a positive experience is different for each individual. It is my role to support and advocate for expectant and new parents to enable them to have this positive experience. The support I offer:
*I use monthly payment plans (at no extra cost)
Standard Doula Package £2250
- An initial visit or zoom call (free of charge) to work out if I am the right Doula for you.
- Continuous support from the third trimester (27 weeks) until 6 weeks postpartum (on the phone or via messaging).
- 2 antenatal planning sessions (2 x 2 hour) where we discuss all aspects of labour and birth and create an individualised birth plan (or birth preferences as I prefer to call it!)
- I will be on call for your birth from around 38 weeks until 42 weeks
- I will be with you in labour from when you need me, during birth and until you are settled after your baby has arrived and once that first feed has been established.
- A 2 hour postnatal visit
Enhanced Doula Package £2750;
This package is highly recommended for first time parents and / or if you are looking for lots of support before the third trimester.
What does the enhanced package included? Absolutely everything that’s included in the standard package plus a full antenatal or hypnobirthing course (We will have four x 2hr antenatal sessions). All hypnobirthing tracks, resources and an accompanying manual are included. The in-depth continuity of care will start from the point you hire me no matter how early!
I know that the more face to face sessions we have before birth, the better. You get to feel more confident and prepared. Hypnobirthing has amazing benefits and one of the options with the enhanced package is to do a full hypnobirthing course with all the materials included. The hypnobirthing course will leave you feeling so confident and with loads of practical skills and tips to have that positive experience.
Complete Doula Package £3500;
This package really covers everything you could need from a birth doula and comprehensive antenatal education, you will feel fully prepared and excited for birth! We have 5 antenatal sessions which are bespoke to your needs. You will get to cover everything you need in these sessions from full antenatal education to how to feed and care for your baby. I’ll also be available to attend midwife / hospital visits with you; This is such an important part of pregnancy and I will be there to help you process these sometimes intense appointments. You will have the confidence to advocate for yourself every step of the way, and when this feels too draining – let me be there to support you!
