Hi I’m Jennifer a doula and postnatal doula.
My journey to support women started 7 years ago as a health coach when I graduated from IIN. Since then, I have supported many women to a healthier, happier and optimal lifestyle. Having had four amazing and very different births, in three different countries all assisted by a DOULA made me realise the importance of being supported by someone else then my partner, someone who has the knowledge, experience and tools to be by my side throughout the hours of labour. That is when I got my certifications a doula and have assisted many families on their journey.
As your doula I will be by your side to support and inform you and your partner with all your birth wishes. We shall meet twice before the birth where we will talk of your birth options and preferences narrowing down to YOUR birth presences. We will also revisit what you learned at your antenatal class and talk about birth physiology and how oxytocin can help your labour. We will use all that knowledge at the birth. I will be on call for your birth from 10 days prior your due date to 2 weeks after your due date, during those weeks I will be available for any questions ,a boost in confidence, extra coaching calls as this time can feel stressful and very long with no support. My work as a postnatal doula varies with each family depending on their need. I am here to support the family in any way needed. It could be reassuring mum and dad , giving tips and advice, watching mum’s breastfeeding position and making sure baby is latching properly, allowing mum to have a rest or a bath, settling baby after feeds, first bath and even simple routines at home or when going out with baby for the first time. On top of that with my background as a health coach I can meal prep some great and delicious healthy meals and snacks to help increase energy and breastmilk.
