Jenny Minton

Birth Doula

Hello! I'm Jenny, I live just outside Bath with my husband, two kids and two cats. I'm originally from but we moved here 3 years ago for a wilder life with less tubes and more mud.

Everything in my life changed when I became pregnant with my first baby (of course), but I was yet to know just how much. Soon after he was born birth became my greatest passion, and birthwork my calling. When I’m not with my family, I’m thinking, reading or writing about birth and doing what I can to make it better for other people.

I'm a Continuum Doula, which means I offer a deeply personalised doula package, ensuring continuity and close support throughout your whole journey into parenthood.

I am also an experienced Hypnobirthing instructor and my doula package includes Hypnobirthing sessions as standard. During my first pregnancy, Hypnobirthing was entirely transformative for both my partner and I. It was the compass that helped us navigate our birth experiences and it is, in my opinion the most valuable birth preparation out there!

As your doula, whether it is your first or fourth baby, I can be your calm on-hand support, hold space for you and your partner and advocate for you as and when you need.

We will have six 2-hour antenatal meetings before your baby’s birth.  These sessions will include lots of listening (to you!), de-briefing, evidence-based birth preparation, hypnobirthing, writing your birth plans, infant feeding education, relaxation sessions, lots of food, tea, cake and chat!

I go on call for you from 37 weeks.  If you go into labour before 37 weeks, I will always do my very best to attend the birth. I will attend you at home, birth centre or hospital, wherever you need me. I’ll stay with you until your baby is born and you are tucked up in bed with your beautiful baby and some yummy food. I will help to protect and hold your birth space, honour you and support your birth partner, whatever your wishes for your birth.

You will receive a minimum of 8 hours postnatal support. The first visit will usually be within 24 hours of the birth, coming regularly for around the first six weeks. The meetings will often take place in your home and are tailored by you to support your families needs during this time.

If that sounds good, the first step is meeting up for a cuppa and some cake to see if I'm the right doula for you! I hope to be able to help you look forward to the birth of your baby, and to support you to have the powerful, joyful experience you deserve.
