About Me
I live with my husband and have 3 children : Sam(1995) Benjamin(1998) and Isabella(2001) and a very well loved dog. I love being a mother, and watching my children grow into independent young people is the most rewarding job ever.
In 2005 I had the great privilege to be a birthing partner for a very close friend. It was one of the most incredibly moving experiences ever. I loved ever minute of the birthing process and knew that somehow I wanted to work in this area. I learned about doulas and set about training. To be able to offer practical and emotional support to parents at such a special time is a total honor.
I was very fortunate to have had 3 natural births (varying from 24hrs+ to 6 hours). I found labour and birthing my children incredibly empowering. I feel passionately that women (and men) should have positive memories of the births of their children whether it be a natural, assisted or c-section birth.
I have been practicing homeopathy for over 15years having qualified in 1997. Homeopathy is a safe, gentle and effective system of medicine that can be used to treat many conditions. Homeopathy works wonderfully in pregnancy, during labour and postnatal period. I have found it particularly successful in helping pain management and nausea in labour. I am led by the parents as to whether we use homeopathy as a tool. I also offer a 2hr homeopathy for childbirth session. This costs ЃЃ60.00 and includes a box of 12 remedies .
I have been very fortunate to have supported parents in a variety of birth situations including home births; waterbirths; successful VBACs; c-section follwing failure to dilate; planned c-section; epidural and forceps delivery; natural hospital deliveries; successful induction due to pregnancy complications. I have worked extensively In my 2 local hospitals Kingston and West Middlesex as well as Queen Charlottes (both privately and NHS); Chelsea and Westminster and The Portland hospital. I am happy to travel up to 45 minutes. I am an active member of West Middlesex Hospital’s Members Sevices Liason Comittee (MSLC).
