About Me
Nurture & Nourish has begun from my passion to support families from pregnancy, during postpartum and through early parenting. Culturally we have lost much of the traditional wisdom that guided and nourished us through these major life transitions.
My postnatal services are tailored to meet your needs. I offer a range of support packages that help maximise your recovery after birth, ease the transition to early motherhood and recognise the needs of your whole family. As your doula I will always listen to you, respect your boundaries, honour your personal journey into and through motherhood and share up to date, evidence based information with you. I will joyfully nurture and nourish you so you can focus on the needs of your new baby.
I have worked for over a decade in managing and delivering community projects and services to families, including advice, parent training and support groups. I also have a background in inclusive play, Special Educational Needs & Disabilities, Early Years education and school governance.
My drive to now work with families from pregnancy onward has come largely from my own experiences of becoming a mother. Although I felt ready for birth I didn’t really understand the choices I would be faced with, I had challenges with breastfeeding and was totally unaware of what my postpartum recovery needs might be. I believe that with the right support these huge life changes can be joyful and empowering, and although there will always be challenging times, I want to help ensure more mothers begin life with a new baby feeling nurtured, nourished and powerful.
I have completed the Red Tent Doula preparation programme and Conscious Birthing Postnatal ‘Full immersion’ Doula Course. I am DBS checked and have completed other relevant training such as:
-
Infant Massage Instructor Training, International Association of Infant Massage
-
Postpartum Recovery & Nutrient Repletion and Nutrition for Breastfeeding, Women’s Health Nutrition Academy
- Paediatric First Aid Training, Training Express
-
