Testimonial for virtual support:
My guardian angel here in walking, the one who has protected us with wings and her halo and has brightened our darkest days and her love has empowered deep within our veins. In the last week I feel I have turned from girl to woman to mother. I came to you in the midst of strong anxiety, fear and confusion in a world not many understand right now, you opened your arms and held me. You have helped me empower and conquer my instincts, my story and my journey. You have given me the ability to readjust and to create the exact perspective I have needed. You lifted the clouds. Out of the billions of people in this world I connected with you. I don’t know why but the universe brought us together.
You too are brave, fierce and are exactly the person every woman needs when going in to motherhood. Few people in this world meet like this – so intricately and radically life changing in so many ways by sampling entering it, the before and after so strong. You have given the gift that nobody else can give me. You have given me the sacred and most precious treasure of everything that will ever exist in my life. You have loved and supported me and my baby boy, you helped us to achieve the birth that we needed.
I am forever in debt to you Verina. We are tied together by motherhood and the soul of a baby, a love that is a force so great. You are amazing.
All my love. Jess

I offer individualised care and support before, during and after birth – support that is tailored for YOUR needs.
I feel passionately about birth and parenting and would like to help more parents to have a positive experience. I see my role as supporting women and their families in making their own choices and in knowing that they have a right to choose….feeling empowered about their birthing experiences whether they choose to have planned home birth, a medicated or unmedicated hospital birth or a scheduled Caesarean section. I believe that a woman should have the birth they want.

I am a qualified homeopath, having trained to degree level at the Centre for Homeopathic Education in London. I am also trained as a breast feeding peer supporter and this means that I’m able to support you when it comes to breastfeeding and help you to access prompt and appropriate support if needed.
I am a member of the Peterborough Maternity Voices Partnership and my role is to make sure that the Healthcare Trust listens to and takes account of the views and experiences of women and their partners who use the Peterborough maternity services. I am also very proud to be an AIMS volunteer http://www.aims.org.uk Campaigning for better births for all, protecting human rights in childbirth, providing independent information about pregnancy and birth and raising awareness of research.
I am a certified Hypnobirthing instructor offering both group and 1:1 classes.
I hold a current DBS Certificate.
I feel privileged to have supported women and their partners during their first and subsequent births, both at home and in maternity units. My work with women during antenatal meetings is often focused on addressing fears or concerns and ensuring that women who wish for an active labour and birth will be supported with self help techniques that they are comfortable with. My main concern is that families feel supported in their informed decisions and have as fulfilling and positive experience of birth as possible.
Over the years, I have supported a variety of birth choices including home birth, water-birth, caesarean birth and induction of labour. As a qualified homeopath, I can incorporate homeopathy into your care and I’ve found that this can be very beneficial before, during, and after birth. I am able to offer breast feeding support in the first few hours after birth and postnatally and I have experience of ‘harvesting’ colostrum from mothers who may need to supplement feeds in the first 24hrs because of gestational diabetes or other clinical issues.
Here is a testimony from a previous client – please visit my website if you would like to see more feedback.
“I asked Verina to be my doula for my third pregnancy. I’m so glad I did. Verina’s pragmatic yet genuinely caring approach enabled me to make informed decisions about the birth and to look forward to it with confidence. I am sure that Verina’s gentle and calm presence contributed to the tranquillity I felt just before and during the birth of my little boy who was born without pain relief, in the water. After my son was born, Verina went out of her way to make sure that we were all calmly settled, she helped me overcome some initial feeding problems, and even sat with my baby son for an hour so I could catch up on sleep! Her homeopathic knowledge was also invaluable throughout the pregnancy and immediately before and after the birth. I wouldn’t have a baby without Verina!”
