Details:
NCT is a charity, and our mission is to support people as they become parents. We want
everyone who becomes a parent to feel confident, connected, and safe, and well-trained
and qualified Doulas is one of the ways we’re working towards that vision.
Our NCT Doula Pathway* has been designed to enable you to develop a role as an NCT
Doula, supporting new parents through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood.
On successful completion of the training, you will be issued an NCT Licence to Practise and
will be able to provide services for parents.
NCT Doulas work as autonomous practitioners who book their own clients and set their
own fees, although they are still part of the NCT community and feature on the NCT
website. We continue to support you once qualified as we understand how important this
is. This support comes from the tutors, NCT Practice and importantly the qualified NCT
doula practitioners.
The NCT Doula Pathway is a Level 4 course offered in partnership with the University of
Worcester and is the only university-accredited qualification for Doulas in the UK. This
partnership is based on recognition of a common purpose and mission. Both organisations
share a commitment to evidence-based practice, active engagement with the community
and an increased focus on equity, diversity and inclusion.
Course structure and teaching

simulation and skills suite, providing students with a unique opportunity to develop their
