Meet Your Trainers:
Anna Rutkowska: An experienced doula and mentor with a background in perinatal support, psychology, and extensive work with Polish families in the UK.
Anna has been working as a Doula for nearly a decade and has extensive experience supporting Polish families navigating the NHS system focusing on birth rights. She has also been mentoring new doulas for 4 years and understands the needs of families as well as the doulas to ensure safe and culturally appropriate care is offered. Anna has developed the majority of the Doula training programme from all of her experience and has emphasised the importance of shared care and communication.
Manisha Sheth: A doula specialising in emotional well-being, postnatal support, and advocacy for diverse communities.
As a retired doula, Manisha has extensive experience in supporting the emotional well-being of families throughout the perinatal field, especially those who’ve experienced infant loss. She is now a counsellor for an infant loss charity as well as an Independent Senior Advocate for maternity at her local trust. Further, she has been delivering training on how midwives and maternity healthcare professionals can offer culturally-safe care to families from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds; having recently developed specialist training on behalf of Support ME. Manisha has used her experience as a counsellor and cultural safety trainer to make sure the Doula Training programme is well-rounded and that trainee doulas are well-equipped to work with families safely, whilst taking care of their own needs.
