training provider.

Changing your career is not a decision to be taken lightly, you need to know that
you’re in safe hands. Our course offers you a unique opportunity to train with two
experienced career doulas. Jemma, who trained as a midwife at one of the biggest
teaching hospitals in the UK and has been a successful doula since 2016 and Anne-
Marie who is a qualified “train the trainer” coach, mentor and has been doulaing
since 2017. Between them they have supported hundreds of women and their
families; from pre-conception and IVF to wild pregnancy and heavily managed, high-
risk pregnancies to elective caesarean and freebirth.  Jemma and Anne-Marie have a
huge knowledge base, tonnes of experience and most importantly, can communicate
that in a fun and engaging manner.

Our course might not be the quickest, cheapest or easiest route to becoming a
doula. That’s intentional. We want doulas who are truly passionate about supporting
women and their families, we want doulas who are committed to being the best they
can be and in return we will give you our all. We will provide you with a solid
foundation of knowledge, following the core curriculum set out by Doula UK, we

weave our own wisdom throughout the four days you spend with us and present you
with real life scenarios, experiences and activities so that you will leave us feeling
fully prepared to start your own doula business.

When you train with us, you’ll get to be face to face with other new doulas, we don’t
believe that online courses are able to create the same intimate connections so our
teaching will always be in person. We purposely keep the groups small so that we
can quickly build trust and be fully immersed in all things pregnancy, birth and
postpartum. We offer a variety of teaching styles and learning materials throughout
the four days.

We are the only course facilitator to be permanently based in the North-West so we
understand the unique circumstances and challenges that you will face when you set
up your business. The good news is that we’re here to support you all the way, we
have a full day focussed on everything business, giving practical tips, advice and
ideas so that you can avoid repeating the mistakes we made and get off to a positive
start. We gift you a course manual which is jam packed with evidence-based
information and the latest research, along with space for you to journal, reflect and to
start making plans for your new business.

Following completion of the course we offer you a one-to-one follow up call so that
you can ask questions and clarify ideas. We are committed to always making time
for you…we want you to succeed so don’t hesitate to get in touch. We hold monthly
Zoom meetings for our doulas where we aim to foster a non-judgemental and
supportive environment. We also hold regular in person meet ups which are always
popular. You will also be invited to our members only Facebook group, where you
can build relationships, ask questions and continue your learning. You will also find a
members only area on our website where you can find up to date research, ideas for
signposting, documents and files that you can adapt to use with your clients. We
provide a comprehensive mentoring programme where we can guide you through
the early days of setting up your business and finding your first clients, along with
helping you to reflect and learn from your experiences with clients. We love to
celebrate your successes with you too.

We offer a 50% discount for at least one place on each course to someone from a
marginalised background. We are happy to take payment in instalments. Please get
